There was no time to adjust—I was thrown in headfirst. The learning curve was steep, but in the middle of the chaos, I realized how much I thrived under pressure and how rewarding it was to guide people through major life decisions.
When I got into real estate, I thought I’d ease in slowly. My youngest son was finally in school, and after years of staying home, I was ready to start working part time. But that plan didn’t last long. The brokerage I joined had a lot of online leads, and before I knew it, I was in the deep end. The 2021 market was chaos—houses were getting 50 or 60 offers, buyers were scrambling, and I barely had time to catch my breath. There was little help or guidance. I had to dive in and figure it out myself.
Before becoming a stay-at-home mom, I was a business owner with my own salon. I was inspired by my dad who spent 36 years in the car industry. He was the kind of guy who helped people when no one else would. And my mom handled the business side, making sure everything ran smoothly. They had a significant impact on me, and it translated to how I ran my salon. I loved the creative side of being a cosmetologist and enjoyed working with people.
But life changed when I met my husband and moved to Covington. I commuted for a while, but after having my son, I sold the business and stayed home. I was grateful for those years at home, being involved in my kids’ lives and all the little moments. But once our youngest started school, I was ready to do something for myself again. I started helping my husband with his home-building business, stepping in on design decisions to make homes more functional for buyers. That experience, combined with my love of homes and design, led me to finally get my real estate license in 2021.
Once I start something, I’m all in, and real estate is no different. Every day is new—different homes, different people, different challenges. And above all else, I love helping people through these significant moments in their lives. It’s exciting, and in just a few years, I’ve grown from agent to broker. In 2024, I opened Purser Realty with the goal of creating something impactful within the industry.
Unfortunately, I lost my father in 2017, but through my brokerage, I want to carry on his commitment to serving people the right way while maintaining the highest standards. My goal for myself and future agents is to ensure we are adding real value to people’s lives throughout the buying and selling process, and above all else, protecting our clients.
That same mindset carries over into my industry and community involvement. I serve as the Vice President of Membership for the East Metro Board of REALTORS® and previously served as a Member Director. I’ve also been involved with the Georgia Association of REALTORS®, serving on committees to improve industry standards and education. Outside of real estate, I love giving back to my community, whether it’s through city clean-up days in Covington or supporting local businesses. Making a difference, whether in my industry or my town, has always been important to me.
My family is my biggest motivation. We have three kids, Presley, DJ, and Bentley, who keep life busy in the best way. We spend a lot of time at the baseball fields, cheering on Bentley at his games, or traveling whenever we get the chance. When we’re home, I love gardening, reading, and being with our golden doodle, Ellie, who is basically my fourth child! I’m grateful for this life and the many amazing things on the horizon.
I have a deep understanding of homes, from how they’re built to how they sell. Working alongside my husband, a builder, has given me firsthand knowledge of home construction, quality craftsmanship, and potential issues that aren’t always obvious at first glance. Whether it’s a new build, a historic restoration, or a home that just needs the right updates, I help buyers make informed decisions about long-term value and functionality. For sellers, I provide guidance on which improvements will bring the biggest return, helping them maximize their home’s value before it even hits the market. Combined with my expertise in market trends and negotiations, I empower my clients to make the best choices for their needs.
Real estate is a major life decision, and I take that responsibility seriously. I believe in clear communication, honest advice, and making the process as smooth as possible. Because I own my own brokerage, I have the freedom to deliver a level of service beyond the typical real estate experience. My clients know they can count on me to be available, to guide them through every step, and to look out for their best interests. I want to make sure my clients feel confident, supported, and completely satisfied with their experience.
Sincerely,
Jami Purser
